New Raphael Saadiq Endorsement!

Prius, what are you doing to us?

There is a pretty cool new music video/advertisement that was just posted on YouTube for Prius featuring none other than R&B legend, Raphael Saadiq.  This is a great idea, using a famous celebrity endorsement and a catchy song to generate interest in the car.

One of the written phrases highlights the ENTUNE Multimedia System with mobile apps – this is useful for targeting the tech-savvy demographic that Prius is going for.

I do however, take issue with the ending. The video’s spoken words are “Those who get it, Get it.”

Not really sure what to make of this phrase, because those who buy the Prius already did their homework and know that it is a great car, but what does this do to attract the attention of those who don’t already get it?

Check it out for yourself – I’d love to hear what you have to say!

The All New 2013

Toyota Prius

Love It or Hate It

Well when it comes to the all new 2013 Toyota Prius
Love the 95 MPG
Love the Money Savings on Gas
Love all the Features
But I REALLY HATE the over all LOOK of the Prius

Why can't Toyota design a better look, maybe something more manly
Something more sexy
As far as this consumer is concerned Toyota needs to go back to the drawing board

Let me know what you think
Thanks again

Who is being honest? Prius, or America?!

Keeping in mind Anderson Cooper’s infamous catch phrase, “keeping them honest”, I decided to do a bit of research myself.  I have been looking all over the web for information on Prius’ competition and which car is the best hybrid out there.

You can go to Toyota.com and do your own side by side comparison of one Toyota and 3 competitors, so naturally I chose to do such in search of the truth!

I chose the 2012 Prius C, Leaf, Fusion and Volt for comparison and the results are quite confusing! It seems that the Prius is the least expensive, and there are so many features and things to keep in mind, there is also a tab that explains the benefits of Prius over the competition. For someone seriously trying to compare cars and get the best value, there sure is a lot to take into consideration.
………If you want to give yourself a headache – take a look for yourself!   Car Comparison

In one posting on ranker.com, it says that Prius is actually NOT the best car on the market, but comes in at 4th place! Lagging behind SmartCar, Nissan Leaf, and Honda Civic GX.
(It’s also called the Top 5 Reasons Priuses Suck).  Talk about your bad publicity! Why Priuses Suck

US News ranks Prius & Ford Fusion as tied for the #1 spot.
Hybridcars.com claims that Prius Liftback is “the #1 selling car.”
Cnet.com ranks Prius in 4th also (Ford C-Max Energi, Chevy Malibu Eco & Chevy Volt all higher)

Who is credible? How subjective is this information? Where does one go to get an honest answer??...wonder in Anderson Cooper knows!

Check out the links above to compare and dare to make your own rankings!

Did the “tekked-out” Prius win the Dream Build Challenge?

Sad to report….it didn’t. Clint Bowyer’s innovative ideas for the racing Prius didn’t win over the fans at the SEMA show in Vegas.  He lost to his competitor, Kyle Busch and his Toyota Camry.

Check out the link and videos and tell me which car you would have voted for!

New 2013 Ford Focus

New 2013 Toyota Prius

Toyota Prius Vs Ford Focus

When you compare these to cars which one is the overall best deal? According to NewCars.com http://www.newcars.com/reviews/toyota-prius-vs-ford-focus-coupehatchback.html
the winner in Price goes to the Focus, it is a few thousand dollars cheaper. When it comes to everything else the Prius win's by far, for example MPG's the Prius is 51/48 versus 27/38 city/Hwy.
Not only does the Prius have better MPG's but also rates better in Overall Safety Rating and Frontal Crash Rating and Side Car Crash Rating.
So it's easy to see who the overall Champ is in this match.

Let me know what you think

OOPS!....

….didn’t see that one coming!

One thing is for certain….natural disasters are, well, disastrous! Thanks to Hurricane Sandy, it is possible that 3 Prius’parked in a New Jersey Port caught fire after being submerged by the salt water from the storm.

Not to worry though, it only happened to 3 of the 4,000 Toyota’s that were parked there.

“One Prius out and out burned, the others just kind of smoldered and got really hot,” said Cindy Knight, a Toyota spokeswoman. “These were definitely extraordinary circumstances.” she added. “Once the salt gets in there, it’s ready to do damage.” – New York Times.

Are we finally getting a new body style?....

It has been 15 years since Prius has come onto the market with the same body style as they are cranking out today.  Popular opinion and comments continue to highlight the demand for a change….according to an article published by Motor Trend, 2015 will be the year that the sexy new Prius model will hit the streets.

The hot new style will reflect a body style changes to make it more visually appealing and to improve aerodynamics, but still be recognized as a Prius.

Check out the technical jargon at the following link, and let me know what you think.
